Our Inspiration.

After alot of thought snd wondering exactly where we were going with our ideas we decided to make a list of all the things that influence us not only when it comes to newspapers and magazines but also with what influences us on a daily basis. When we think about the things that we are both really into we deicided that as somthing that would definatly catch the attention of teenagers would have to be music and fashion. Both being a broad enough as choices but also so they can be linked together. We found that within our social groups and year groups the most popular genres of music were indie,rock and alternitive.

Which for us was a plus as we are both fans of that form of music. As the newspaper is for our own age range and of similer interests we thought we would take a look at some of the magazines that inspire us. Then after taking those pieces and mergeing them with newspapers causing an eruption of art,fashion,music and culture without losing all the familer traits that are assosiated with newspapers. Somthing that hasn'been done yet. We want to keep the layout of the front page familer to the standered paper and really explore the content of what we want to put in it.

We really analysed papers such as the guardian. For ideas and the type of stories communties are intrested in on a general level regardless of age or gender. We found that obvioulsy many of the stories where on a local level with familer names and faces throughout-mainly polotictions and shop owners for example. But nothing really included lifestyle or anything that is releveant to a younger audience. Also the use of language is varied very little with the same formal tone throughout making the reading of the articles tedious to read. Completly unforgiving.

Howver when reading magzines such as 'POP' the vocabualry especially is inspiring making every article engaging to read. which is always a plus. Although the contents was barely relevant to a local newspaper the was still the community vibe was still the same. Making it worthwhile to read. Also after reading we felt inspired, POP really does benfit from the 'Techno age' with refrence to blogs,photography, websites and photoshop ideas. Technology really does influence the magazine. When looking at the website although we arn't creating a website for our task., we found the guardien's website very cluttered and untidy to use, vaugely like the newspaer.

However POP's website was clean and easy to use with simple fonts and heading. Totally what we need to create with our paper. making it clean and simple to read but with the information and relvenace that we need to contain in our paper.
