This is visual advertisement for Radio 1, normally these are played on there radio station and on other stations, but they have decided to put this into another medium, that being television. This i feel is a good way of portraying there radio station to a wider audience. I feel this that this advert is very captivating as it is in slow motion and has a very atmospheric music. The use of the pause within the music is very intriguing as it makes the viewer want to know what's going to happen. it is also very effective because upon landing the music goes from being slow, quite atmospheric and heightening to fast paced and trance like. To co-inside with this there are a explosions within the video which is a crescendo and an captivating ending. I will take these elements and put them into the radio advertisement as i feel they are very effective.

It is going to be hard to award marks for this project unless you begin to:
ReplyDelete1) Analyse media products with the appropriate terminology. In terms of moving image, this means discussing a)narrative (what is the story being told) b) use of mise en scene c) camera angles, SFX and CGI, and what impact these have on creating the story or narrative d) costume and make up e) diegetic and non-diegetic sound f) ideology and g) the potential impact on core target audience and those that are beyond the core target audience (in this case, Radio 1 are explicit in their attempt to attract a young consumer base - but as everyone under the age of 75 is 'young' today, we have to investigate further into this idea of 'core target audience' in terms of music/entertainment media
IGNORE MY LAST POST! Sorr guys - now that we have sat down and discussed your project in more detail, YOU DON'T NEED TO ANALYSE MOVING IMAGE ANYMORE! Focus instead on radio adverts. Listen to a range of them over the weekend, and deconstruct them under the following categories:
ReplyDeletea) Who or what is the narrator?
b) What is the narrative exactly? (describe the 'story' of the advert)
c) Any use of jingle or poem or rhyme?
d) What is the SOCIAL CLASS, RACE and GENDER of the narrator? What is the relevance of this for the audience?
e) Sound effects?
f) Who is the advert aimed at? What group of people?
And....get out and take some shots of youth orientated fly posters this weekend!
