Shortlist Front Cover Analysis

Shortlist front cover

Main focal point of the page is the digital wave that runs across the page
This effect is used to bring the whole page together
The next main focal point is the logo which is the biggest piece of text on the page this is used to emphasise the magazine and so it makes it eye-catching
Above this is a banner that emphasises that the magazine is free this draws in new people to read there magazine
Next to this is lists of words that are striking and tell the reader what sorts of articles are included in the magazine.
Beneath the logo there is very large advertisement for “nivea”
This is very unusual for a magazine to have its main cover as advertisement
The advertisement has a main headline which is an open ended question so it draws people into the article within the magazine and also causes them to tend to read the rest of the advertisement
Underneath there is subtext which is possible answers for the open ended question which make the reader intrigued as to what the correct answer is
The subtext is split at the bottom to make the right answer which adds emphasis to the advertisement
Between the logo and the advertisement there is a thin banner that tells the reader the release date and there website to show readers other areas of there business
The colours within this cover are very stylised to a specific theme that tends to lean towards the product being advertised
The text tends to be the same font and style
