Shortlist contents analysis

Shortlist Contents

The main focal point of the contents is the main picture of an actor, in the corner of the picture there is a circle with the page number on it. There is a small caption that’s gives a question. These techniques are used to draw the reader attention towards the article as the reader is left hanging. Further more it is the centre of page which gives the article more importance over the others
The second focal point is the logo at the top of page which lets the reader relate to magazine
Underneath there is very anti- stereotypical subtext which is used to make people feel confident and help them relate to the magazine which in turn makes them read it again
The actual contents tends to revolve around the main picture
The contents is split up into sections each section is shown by small grey banners with the section name within it
At the bottom of the page there is a picture of a car with a page number on it, this is a similar technique to the main picture on the page. It make the keeps the reader left hanging and wanting to know more about it
At the left hand side there is a side bar which gives mini-articles about reacted topics
At the top of the side bar there is a bold text outline the main mini article
There are then lined dividers between each mini article
All three articles have pictures which have some relevance to the magazineThe colours and themes are very stereotypically leaned towards a more working class man style
