Audience Analysis

I have attained our questionnaire results and have put them into charts as it is easier to analyse and drawn conclusions from them. Using these results we will take into consideration our audiences opinion and there wants and needs so that we meet our market and also hope that although our newspaper is controversial that it will still entertain and interest our audience.

Logos

These are logos in which I have designed. I have made a few as I felt it would be good to create a variety of very different logos and then compare them and decide which one to use and which one was the most effective. Created some logos using adobe fireworks and others using and online copyright free logo designer. As you can see these logos are very unique in different ways and all I feel fit to the persona in which we wish to display.Although some better than others we decided to go for the most plain one as we felt it was still very effective and striking but also didn’t draw attention away from anything that may possibly be on the front cover ect

Layouts

These are layouts in which I have designed as a draft visual representation of how we wish our paper to look like. As you can see these are very brief non detailed designs but these are just the foundations in which I intend to build upon. Here are three initial ideas in which I have decided that that the second one is the one that we mutually agree would be the best for portraying our paper and making it “edgy”. From this simplistic design I aim to create a detailed and analysed final mock up of the edition of the paper and then finally create the paper itself. I will do this using Adobe Photoshop CS4. I have chosen to use this software as I am familiar with it and have recently found that its more effective in my opinion than other publishing software available to me.

Advertisiments

These are some posters I which I have designed, I feel that they are quite striking and would stand out and draw attention although I feel that they may give off and antisocial message in which I feel that this may cause problems when indorsing our product, Although they are quite rebellious and show a somewhat darker side to teenage angst. I feel that this message may come across to strong therefore I have decided to keep the first poster and redesign the other to as I feel they may not be appropriate for younger teen readers and also may not quite fit with the theme of our paper being that of fashion and music.

Change Of Plans

As we worked through this project we have found there are a lot more underlying factors to our original ideas. We have realised that there is a lot more to the culture and the stereotyping of the music and fashion groups. We realised that it would be a diverse but not the extent that we have discovered.

Therefore we have decided to take on this challenge and show through our newspaper the diversity that goes on in these two areas. We want to challenge these stereotypes and show that although there is this divide between social groups that these groups do come together and do generally conform to each other.
Things such as music festivals are a prime example of this; they bring these social groups together and thus making them one, despite their social groups. This is the sort of message we want to portray throughout our paper and make it appeal to a wider audience.

We will use our campaign to show different aspects of our social groups and then use our paper to bring these together by showing the aspects of their fashion and music and then showing a crossover between all the groups.

Publicity Campaign :D

PUBLICITY

Naturally an important part of reaching to the public and getting them to share the vision.
Our publicity as decided in an earlier post that we were using fly posting as a method of advertising. Our Motto is 'Conform To Diversity' a complete contradiction that kind of makes sense. We decided to use 'Absurdism' as a way of making our advertisements memorable for the audience and hopeful causing a buzz. for example below is the publicity poster for 'Layer Cake' The genius about this poster is the fact it uses simple graphics and images being completely unrelated especially the iconic iron. Although its presence on the poster is unknown until actually watching the film does it become clear.

We want to do something similar using  un-connected images that actually bear relevance to what we are trying to convey as a message.  As the paper itself is aimed at young people and young ideas. However not conforming to the idea that all young people are the same. Everyone is understanding of the fact the we are all being influenced all the time by pop culture however the only true time time that each of these very different scenes of people are only really merge together at one place in particular, music festivals. As everything is really and truly diverse and be groups of people explode from this scene every year. it is only then that you may find yourself rubbing shoulders with an 'Emo' kid  who normally goes to under ground clubs in central london when you yourself may only wear pink and goto the clubs all the footballers wives visit. But at a festival that all changes as everyone just embraces the scene that they are in and all the 'tribes' reunite as a unity of people who respect and understand each other even if it is only for the weekend. and we think thats brilliant and we want to really have that underlying respect within our newspaper we want it to really embrace everyone so each week after reading it you take a little something away with you which makes you want to read into it even more.

Our posters therefore are taking on the idea of absurdism with an image without making it completely one sided to a certain clique of person we are go into have images that we feel reflect teenage rebellion.
